In the future RiverCom Dispatch center in Wenatchee could become a regional hub for all emergency 9-1-1 calls in Central Washington. The plans, first put forward by the State two years ago as a cost-saving move, are not being pursued in this legislative session. Douglas County Commissioner, Dale Snyder sits on the RiverCom governing board.
Snyder says turning RiverCom into a regional emergency call center could conceivably serve Grant, Okanogan, Kittitas and Adams Counties. The facility presently handles law enforcement and fire agencies in Chelan and Douglas Counties.
