(AP) - The Washington Transportation Department says 67,000 vehicles a day used the stretch of Interstate 5 through Mount Vernon that is now blocked by the collapse of the Skagit River bridge. 02/12/13 Growers Receive Good Returns for Record Apple Crop

Over half of Washington's record 2012 apple crop has been shipped, according to the Washington Growers Clearing House. Assistant manager Dan Kelly says growers are getting good prices because of poor crops last year in other apple-growing regions of the country. The Tri-City Herald reports (http://bit.ly/12mJIzr) a 40-pound box of apples is selling for more than $26, compared to $23 last year and $20 two years ago. Favorable weather last year help Washington produce a record crop of 130 million boxes. Growers say they have enough apples in storage to keep grocery stores supplied the rest of the year. ---
