The search continues for a man last seen Thursday afternoon on the North Shore of Lake Chelan. Chief Mike Harris with the Chelan County Sheriff's office says 30 year old Kyle Jaynes, who has ties to the Chelan area, was staying at a cabin at Canoe Creek. That's about three miles down Lake from Lucerne. Harris says Jaynes told people there he was going out to relax and read a book. His book was found on a flat rock about 75 yards uplake from the Canoe Creek dock. A search in and around the area by family and friends failed to locate Mr. Jaynes.
As of early Sunday afternoon Mr. Jaynes had not been located. Harris says the search will continue with more divers and other searchers heading to the area.
Jaynes is described as an experienced hiker who is familiar with the area, which has steep terrain going away from the lake.
