08/18/12 New Tally Counted For Buildings Destroyed By Taylor Bridge Fire

Kitittas County Emergency Management officials have a new tally of buildings destroyed by the 23 thousand acre Taylor Bridge Fire.

An assesment conducted by emergency management confirms that 48 homes and 15 outbuildings have been torched by the blaze.

Due to increased fire activity . . .areas north of State Route 970 have been upgraded to a Level 2 evacuation.

Areas include Lauderdale Lane. . . Ley Road. . .Hartman Road . . .Swauk Prairie Road . . .Michelleto Road . . .Shamrock Lake. . . Forbes Lane . . .and encompassing areas northeast along State Route 97 to China Camp Road.

Emergency Management officials add that the Level 3 evacuation in the area of Lauderdale junction along highway 10 has been downgraded to a level 2.

The fire is 43-percent contained.
