Detectives investigating Tuesday's officer-involved shooting near Moses Lake have released the name of the officer involved. Grant County Sheriff's office Corporal Allan Sleeper, 58, fired his sidearm Tuesday morning, injuring a domestic violence suspect. In a news release Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones says the suspect, 39 year old Corey L. Minatani is hospitalized and is listed in stable condition. Minatani will be booked into the Grant County Jail after he is released from the hospital. Jones says early Tuesday Corporal Sleeper and other deputies were dispatched to a report of a physical domestic violence, with children present, at a home in the 9300 block of Viewcrest Drive Southeast. Jones says Sleeper arrived first, and was met in front of the house by Minatani's wife, who was injured and covered in blood. She told Sleeper her husband had cut her and was still inside the house. Sleeper found Minatani in a bathroom and Jones says the suspect told Sleeper has was armed with a knife and wasn't going to put it down. Jones adds that Minatani advanced on the corporal, who fired on shot, hitting Minitani in the chest. The investigation continues.
