09/17/12 Red Cross Shelters Offer Respite from Fire Smoke
A Red Cross official says shelters set up for fire evacuees are doing double duty as shelters from the smoke. Apple Valley Chapter director, Mariah Thornock says the shelter are available to anyone who seeks a smoke-free environment. .
Thornock recommends residents monitor the air quality through the Washington State Department of Ecology website for the most up to the minute air quality measurements.
