Chelan County commissioners Monday named Deanna Walter as the county's new assessor. Walter, formerly the chief deputy assessor, has been serving as acting county assessor for the past month and a half. On August 10th a Chelan County elections canvassing board ruled that former Assessor Vickie Trudell was not a Chelan County resident. Commissioner Doug England says commissioners Monday interviewed three candidates submitted by the Chelan County Republican Central Committee. Walter's position comes up before voters in November of 2012.
