The father of a two month old boy who is recovering from serious injuries in a Seattle hospital, has been arrested on suspicion of first degree assault of a child. In a news release, Douglas County Undersheriff Don Culp says interviews of family members, fire and ambulance personnel were conducted locally. Thursday Sheriff's detectives traveled to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle to continue the investigation. A doctor there informed detectives that the child had bleeding in the brain and three fractured ribs, and that the injuries were caused by trauma and were recent. Culp says as a result of the investigation the father, a 26 year old East Wenatchee man, was arrested for first degree assault of a child and booked into the Chelan County Regional jail.
