An East Wenatchee area man was reportedly beaten and robbed while walking along the Apple Capital Loop Trail early Friday morning. Douglas County undersheriff, Don Culp says deputies interviewed the alleged victim after receiving the assault complaint. The man reported he was struck in the back of the head while walking along the trail in the vicinity of 22nd street around 1 am Friday. He said he was knocked unconscious and when he awoke discovered that he was missing his wallet and I-Pod. The victim claimed he didn't know who attacked him. He didn't report the assault until about 36 hours after it allegedly occured.
