Local homeless advocates are asking people to "walk a mile in my shoes". Teria Kelly, director of Haven of Hope, says Saturday's walk is a fundraiser for Hospitality Heights, a soon to be built local homeless shelter for families. She says it fills a need that they can't at Haven of Hope or the Hospitality House, help for families with teenage boys. Kelly and Jim Zumini appeared on Wednesday's Street Talk Show with Mike Magnotti. Zumini, the executive director of the Hospitality House shared some exciting news. A donor has agreed to match every donation to the Hospitality House through the end of the year, up to 75 thousand dollars. Zumini says they plan to submit permits for the first phase of the project to Wenatchee city officials this week. The walk is set for Saturday morning. It starts with check in from 8-30am to nine in the parking lot of the First United Methodist church, at the corner of Washington and Miller Streets in Wenatchee. The walk, about a mile long, is followed by a breakfast and a prize drawing. Registration is 15 dollars for adults, five dollars for kids under 16 and 25 dollars for a family.
