12th District State Senator Linda Evans Parlette announced Friday that she will be having surgery next week for a suspicious nodule on her right thyroid gland. The nodule was discovered during a routine physical in August. Following further tests, surgery was advised. In a news release Parlette says, "I am very optimistic about the outcome of my upcoming surgery and confident in the great care I am already receiving from my doctors here in Wenatchee." The Wenatchee Republican went on to say, "Although I may miss a few meetings in our district and in Olympia while I recover, I am grateful that technology and supportive staff will enable me to remain very engaged in the important issues facing our district and our state."
