OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Gov. Chris Gregoire is extending the state's moratorium on non-critical rules.
Gregoire said Thursday that businesses and local governments need to devote their full attention on creating jobs and supporting the economy. She extended the rule freeze until the end of 2012.
Officials say the moratorium put in place last year has blocked more than 400 proposed rules among cabinet agencies. The executive order allows rules to go through if they deal with public health, safety and welfare.
