Morning showers didn't dampen the enthusiasm of hundreds of volunteers who are taking part in Make a Difference Day in the Wenatchee Valley. Organizer Laurel Helton says volunteers are doing everything from holding a bake sale to benefit Children's Hospital, to cleaning yards of disabled neighbors, clearing trailheads and collecting food, clothing and diapers for the needy.Helton says the spirit of community and giving doesn't stop when the Day ends, she encourages people to continue to volunteer.
