Several state, federal and local agenciy representatives were on hand Thursday to advise homeowners and property owners who live within or adjacent to the areas burned by this years wildfires. Greg Kuyumjian is a U.S. Forest Service hydrologist. He says post-fire areas are prone to more runoff.
Amy Hendershot is with Natural Resources Conservation Service, a federal agency that works with private landowners to do conservation work on private lands.
Residents aren't the only ones affected by the fire's aftermath. John Gillie with the State Department of Fish and Wildlife says animals are also impacted.
Others who spoke at Thursday's workshop included representatives from the Chelan County Sheriff's office, Chelan County Public Works, Wenatchee Fire Department, Chelan-Douglas Land Trust, National Weather Service and the Chelan County Noxious Weed Control Board.
