The Employment Security Department is helping students "catch up" on studies today (Tuesday) with an award of 204-thousand dollars to the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council in Wenatchee.
Funds will pay for 54 Washington Service Corps members for tutoring children and adults in reading within Chelan...Douglas...Grant and Okanogan counties.
132-thousand dollars of the grant is for tutoring...basic education...community outreach programs for children...adults and the elderly.
The remaining 72-thousand dollars will be allocated towards K through 12 reading programs in all four counties.
