Local law enforcement officials have responded to a number of car prowls in recent days. Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal reminds people to lock their cars and keep valuables out of sight. In addition, he says leaving your vehicle running to defrost windows or to go inside a business, even for just a few minutes, invites thieves looking for an easy opportunity to steal your car.
