Eight thousand. That's an estimate on how many pounds of non-perishable food was donated Saturday during the annual "Thanksgiving on the Mayflower" food drive. The event, at the Albertson's Parking lot in Wenatchee, was sponsored by Cherry Creek Radio and Colonial Vista. The proceeds benefit Serve Wenatchee Valley, who will distribute the food to those in need. Pastor Bob Sheppard says it was great to see so many people brave the cold the help out.
Serve Wenatchee Valley will take sign-ups for Thanksgiving baskets on Wednesday and Thursday.
