As of 8p.m. last night (Tuesday) State Route 20 North Cascades Highway is closed due to heavy snow storms expected during the next several days.
The DOT says icy road conditions and the potential of avalanche danger will determine if the highway will re-open by tomorrow.
The highway has been known to close for lengthy periods of time.
Last year...SR 20 closed December 1st and did not re-open until May 23rd making it the second latest reopening in the highway's history.
The 37 mile closure zone begins seven miles east of Diablo Dam and nine west of Mazama below Washington Pass.
