Based on a survey conducted by the Washington State Transportation Commission...Washington residents say they'd be willing to pay more to maintain the current transportation system.The poll showed 59-percent of tax payers statewide agreed to raising transportation levies and fees.Transportation Commission Member of the North Central Washington area Jerry Litt says the majority of citizens in Chelan...Douglas and Okanogan counties also said "yes" to a hike. Transportation Commission Executive Director Reema Griffith says if voters pass the measure,funds generated would go toward improving all aspects of public transportation across the state. With ten-thousand people surveyed...both Reema and Litt expect to place a levy on the ballot next year.
