A USA Today story indicates that much of the nation is paying significantly higher electric rates compared to five years ago but in Washington State but residents of Chelan and Douglas Counties can still lay claim to some of the lowest power bills in the country.
A report by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission says many households in the US have seen steady hikes in power prices.
Washington State currently has the Nations second lowest electricity rates at 8.04 per kilowatt hour Idaho is cheaper by about five cents.
The average monthly bill for Chelan County PUD customers, $49.17 is the second lowest in the State.
Douglas County PUD customers pay the lowest amount of 39-dollars per month on average.
Craig says costs for electrical power will drop on January 1st of 2012 saving households an average of three-dollars per month.
