12/18/11 Wild Win Big

TOPEKA, Kan. – Blake Roubos gave his Wenatchee Wild teammates an early Christmas gift Saturday night – 4 goals and an assist, which led to a 7-1 victory over the Topeka RoadRunners at the Kansas ExpoCentre in Topeka, Kan. The win gave the Wild a split in this weekend’s 2-game series after withstanding a 2-1 loss in the first game of the series Friday.

Back in the lineup this weekend for the first time since suffering an injury two weeks ago, Roubos recorded two goals in the first period, before matching his own effort with two more markers in the second stanza.

Roubos' four goals tied him with Chris Kerr for the most goals scored in a single game, a record that Kerr set in a 6-1 win over the Dawson Creek Rage on Dec. 4 at the Town Toyota Center.

The Wild (14-9-4) will ring in 2012 with a 2-game series at the Town Toyota Center against the West Division-leading Alaska Avalanche on Dec. 30-31.
