Weather permitting, several controlled burns are set to take place in the next couple of weeks. Officials with the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forests say areas that may be burned, include 600 acres on the Loop Hill and lower Blewett Pass areas, about 100 acres in the Natapoc Ridge area, as well as burns along Chiwawa Loop Road and near Highways 207 and 209. Work could begin as soon as Tuesday. Fall burning operations are scheduled to begin Monday on the Naches Ranger District. Weather permitting, 67 acres of piles in the Rattlesnake drainage will be burned.
