Investigators say a wildfire just east of Ephrata last week was human caused, and they're asking for the public's help in finding the person or persons responsible for the blaze. Ephrata Fire Chief Jeremy Burns says the wind-driven fire burned about 110 acres of grass and sage brush. No structures were damaged and there were no injuries. The fire was reported around three p.m. last Thursday along State Route 282 near Airport Road. Investigators say they are interested in any information about a person or persons on foot, any stopped vehicles or any unusual activity seen in that area between 3 and 3-20pm last Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ephrata Fire Department at 509-754-4666, Grant County Chief Deputy Fire Marshal Bruce Gribble at 509-754-2011, extension 344, of the MACC dispatch center at 509-762-1160.
