Leavenworth's plans to construct a pavillion and ice rink continue to move forward. That stems from a unanimous decision by Leavenworth's city council to approve the structure's site last Tuesday . The site will be located east of the city's fest hall in the downtown area. Tony Keyser of the Ski Heritage Foundation which is the project's primary fundraiser says the city is satisfied with where their at in funding. The recreation conservation grant Keyser is talking about will be the projects primary source of funding. Leavenworth City Administrator Joel Walinski says the project will cost between 1.1 and 1.6 million dollars. Walinski added that construction for the site will be begin within two years.
