Five horses belonging to a Cashmere area man were seized recently in connection with an investigation of animal neglect conducted by the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. The case has been turned over to Chelan County Prosecutors and charges of animal neglect are pending in District Court. Humane Society Director, Dawn Davies says the horses were confiscated from the property located on Mission Creek Road after animal control officers were notified by an anonymous tip. The investigation has been ongoing for the past several months. Davies says all of the horses were badly malnourished and one was so seriously neglected that it was not expected to survive.
