Butchering animals in plain view is no longer allowed in Wenatchee. Captain Kevin Dresker with the Wenatchee Police Department says it's not a wide-spread problem, there weren't any good controls to preclude this activity from occuring. Dresker says the impetus for the ordinance was a recent case where a man butchered a goat in "open view" of neighbors. Under the ordinance, "open view" is an area generally visible to view by the public.
