WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) - Stephen A. Pasion has been fired as district executive of the Wenatchee Valley Boy Scouts organization after just a month on the job.
That was after officials learned that the 37-year-old man's certification as a registered counselor had been revoked by the state Department of Health in 2009 for abusing a patient in his care. Prior to that, he was accused of mistreating young defendants in his custody as a Spokane County juvenile detention officer.
Grand Columbia Council Scout Executive Robert Fawcett says Pasion rose to the top from about 30 applicants for the Scouts job, and passed all credential checks in a month-long vetting process.
