09/23/11 Shooting Suspect Arrested (more)

Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones reported this afternoon the arrest of Bryan G. Brodil, wanted for first-degree assault with a firearm and first-degree robbery with a firearm in connection with the Sept. 20 double shooting north of Moses Lake. Brodil was taken into custody earlier today in La Grande, Ore. Brodil was arrested by United States Marshals and the La Grande Police Department. The Grant County (Wash.) Sheriff’s Office had received several tips from local and regional citizens, and forwarded those leads to U.S. Marshals and LaGrande Police.

At the time of his arrest, Brodil was in possession of a loaded firearm. It is unknown if that firearm was used in the Moses Lake shooting. It is also not yet clear to authorities what the connection was between Brodil and the residence where he was found. La Grande, Ore. is about 200 miles and three hours south of Moses Lake.

Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones says the other wanted suspect in that case, Ivy R. Ramos, is still at large, but he is confident she will be taken into custody soon.

“The arrest of Bryan Brodil happened because of tips from citizens, and our partnership with U.S. Marshals and the LaGrande Police Department,” said Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones. “Because of those partnerships, especially the tips from the public, we are able to make arrests of violent criminals, and save our taxpayers the expense of more man hours.”

The victims of this crime both remain hospitalized; one, a 17-year-old juvenile male, is in stable condition, the other, Rolando Padron, Jr., age 32, is in guarded condition.

One of two suspects waned in a Grant County double shooting has been arrested in Oregon.
