The state Ecology Department has awarded three-point-five million dollars in grants to twenty different local jurisdictions to help them continue to put their locally adopted watershed plans into action.
The plans cover thirty-one of the state's distinct drainage basin to help local communities improve water availability for people, farms and fish across the state. Chelan County, Wenatchee and Entiat are included as grant recipients.
The current round of watershed implementation grants was focused on communities with high population growth, threatened fish stocks or many competing demands for limited water supplies.
