Port of Douglas County Executive Director Lisa Parks reveals that the Pangborn Business Park could house a fish farm operation in the near future. Parks says discussions about the project began in March with an Israeli-based company, "Growfish Anywhere" that farms non-native fish called "Sea Bream." The fish is known for its mild taste and will be used for personal consumption. Parks says the operation would lease ten acres of the additional soon to be developed 40 acres of Pangborn property. Parks adds that the county will not fund the 15-million dollar fishery. A decision should be made by the end of this year on whether to greenlight construction.
