PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) - A wildlife agent shot and killed a cougar believed to have killed three sheep and three llamas on the north Olympic Peninsula.
The cougar was seen in an open field in broad daylight feeding on a 180-pound ram it had killed Monday about five miles west of Port Angeles. It ignored the sheep's owner as she drove up in a car.
The Peninsula Daily News reports the cougar was treed by dogs and shot by wildlife Officer Win Miller. He says it was a healthy 150-pound adult male.
