You may see smoke in the Lake Wenatchee area Friday. Susan Peterson with the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forests says firefighters are taking advantage of favorable weather conditions to begin pile burning. Plans for prescribed fire treatment over the next few days include burning hand piles and landings in previous timber sale areas and in areas previously treated by mechanical fuels reduction treatments. About 50 acres will be burned, along the north shore of Fish Lake and in nearby areas, specifically Meadow Creek.
