Chelan County's Tri-commission, comprized of County, Port and Pud Commissioners, meets today (Tuesday) to get updates on some projects of common interest. Topics include expansion of Crunch Pak at the Cashmere mill property site...a change in electrical rate plans and a status report regarding runway extension at Pangborn Airport. In addition that. The treaty an agreement between Canada and the U.S. on the development and operation of dams in the upper Columbia River basin for power and flood control benefits in both countries.An article provided by the Northwest Power and Conservation Council says the agreement generates 250 to 350-million dollars annually between Canadian and U.S. dams including all North Central Washington Dams.Any variation or termination of the treaty could give U.S. utilities involved more...less...or all of that amount. In addition to the meeting...other subjects will include what's in store for the Port's Pybus Public Market project...the P-U-D's fiber optics planning process and the county's Holden Mine reclamation project. The Tri-Commission meeting is open to the public and will be held from 1p.m. to 3p.m. in the Chelan County PUD board room.
