10/17/11 Police Officer Arrested

SEATTLE (AP) - A sergeant assigned to the Seattle Police Department's domestic violence unit has been arrested for investigation of domestic violence. Chelan County sheriff's deputies took the officer into custody on the misdemeanor offense just before midnight at Saturday at Leavenworth's Octoberfest. The officer's name hasn't been released, but the department says he's a 28-year veteran of the force. Police officials have transferred the sergeant out of the unit, pending the ongoing investigation. Chelan County Police Sergeant Jerry Moore says the argument between the man and a woman began after the man gave away 20 dollars worth of beer tickets.  The woman did not require medical aid.  The Seattle police officer posted bail early Sunday. The office of professional accountability is investigating.
