ROYAL CITY, Wash. (AP) - A Royal City, Wash., police officer has fatally shot a man in that central Washington community.
The Monday evening shooting took place in a mobile home park.
The Grant County sheriff's office says the unidentified officer was not injured. He's been placed on paid administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
Sheriff's Chief Deputy Ken Jones was unable to provide any information about the dead man, including whether he was armed or how the officer came to encounter him.
