Revenues are up but so is spending at the Douglas County PUD.
Commissioners adopted the District's 2012 distribution system budget at their regular Monday meeting. Utility spokeswoman Meghan Vibbert says the budget includes a 16 percent increase in revenues to 45.1 million dollars. Spending is also up 4.1 percent from last year to 40.3 million dollars.
Vibbert says next year's budget also anticipates the issuance of a 16 million dollar bond for long-lived capital expense projects such as substations and transmission lines. .
Vibbert also reports the Board adopted a 19.7 million dollar capital expense budget.
Vibbert also reports that Douglas County electric customers will see an increase in rates next year. . .Initially the District has adopted a 7 percent increase but she says the process of implemention is not complete yet.
