A jury could not reach a verdict in the Steven Swinford murder trial. The hung jury followed a day and a half of deliberations.
23 year old Steven Swinford of Chelan, the man accused in the January 8th, 2010 shooting death of 22-year-old Paul Raney.Swinford was charged with second degree murder.
The shooting occured at a house the two men shared in the Manson area. Prosecutors contend that Swinford shot Raney multiple times after the two got into an argument over an IPod charging station.
In trial testimony another roommate, Jessy Juarez said that he witnessed the two men arguing just prior to the shooting. Another witness, Kyle Flick, testified that he heard the sound of a gun being cocked and then said he turned and "saw holes being put into Paul"
