East Wenatchee Mayor candidate Dave Bremmer stated at last week's candidate forum that he cast the lone dissenting vote when the Council approved joining the Town Toyota Center's Public Facilities District. Bremmer also claimed that Mayor Steve Lacy played an integral part in lobbying for the City's involvement in building the arena. However, Bremmer's claim conflicts with the actual vote that was taken at the December 13th 2005 Council meeting. Following the forum KPQ obtained a copy of the minutes from the meeting. The minutes show that it was Council member Bremmer who made the motion to join the PFD. The final vote was 5-1 with the lone dissenting vote cast not by Bremmer, but by then councilmember, Ralph Aiken. In fact the record from that meeting shows that only Aiken expressed concerns about the financing of the project.
