11/05/11 Wild Lose Friday



PALMER, Alaska – The Wenatchee Wild’s 4-game winning streak came to an end Friday in a 3-1 loss to the Alaska Avalanche at the Palmer Ice Arena in Palmer, Alaska. The Avalanche came out of the gate determined and held a 2-0 lead 10 minutes into the contest. The Wild cut Alaska’s lead in half on a goal by Ansel Duesenberg. Wenatchee however was unable to score another goal over the final 20 minutes of play and went on to suffer its first loss in five games during a 6-game road trip in Alaska. Wild goalie Robert Nichols suffered his first regulation loss of the season. He made 27 saves on 30 shots. Game 2 of this weekend’s series between the Wild (8-5-2) and Avalanche (10-6-1) will face off Saturday at 8:30 p.m. The pre-game show on 560 KPQ begins at 8-15pm. The Wild will host the Fairbanks Ice Dogs on Nov. 18-19 at the Town Toyota Center. Both of those games will begin at 7:05 p.m.
