11/06/11 Wild Win

PALMER, Alaska – The Wenatchee Wild concluded its 6-game Alaskan road trip Saturday with a 2-0 victory over the Alaska Avalanche at the Palmer Ice Arena. The Wild compiled a 5-1 record during the road trip, matching a franchise-best mark that was set at the end of the 2009-10 season. Wild goaltender Greg Lewis stopped all 21 of Alaska’s shots to record his third straight shutout in as many starts. Lewis has not allowed a goal in 179 minutes and 30 seconds, which is a new franchise record, besting the mark of 161 minutes and 30 seconds that Robert Nichols set earlier this season. Trevor Husch and Max McHugh scored goals for the Wild. The Wild (9-5-2) will return to the Town Toyota Center for a 2-game series against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs on Nov. 18-19. Both games will begin at 7:05 p.m.
