Farmers have until December 2nd to apply for financial and technical assistance through the USDA's Environmental Quality Incentives Program.
E-Q-I-P is designed to help farmers improve irrigation efficiency...manage nutrient run-off and reduce soil loss.
Upon approval... the program compensates growers with half of their conservation costs.
According to the U-S-D-A...Washington farmers qualified for $12 million dollars in assistance in 2011.
