Initiative 1183 privatising the liquor business in Washington State passed with 60% of the vote...now what?
A statement released by the Washington State Liquor Control Board says the following...
"We are...of course...deeply disappointed by the election result on Initiative 1183. Weighing most heavily on our hearts and minds are the more than 900 Liquor Control Board employees who will lose their jobs."
Beer One is next to Wenatchee's liqour store...a Beer One clerk says she's worried that her employer will go out of business.
Moving forward... the State Liquor Board says by June 1st of next year all liquor business operations will be transitioned into the private sector.
