The Wenatchee city council holds a public hearing this evening on whether or not they should enact a 20 dollar car tab fee. Mayor Dennis Johnson says the council wants to hear from the public. If enacted, the 20 dollar car tab fee would not go into effect until the middle of next year and would generate an estimated 250 thousand dollars next year. He says one proposal calls for half of that money to go to street preservation work and half to bolster the city's reserve fund. Tonight's meeting gets underway at 5-15 at the Wenatchee City Hall.
