Highway 970 in Kittitas County was closed last night following a fatal two-vehicle head-on collision. It happened around 6:30 about 9 miles east of Cle Elum. State Troopers report the driver of a car that drifted over the centerline striking a second vehicle died at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 41 year old Leroy House of Wenatchee was injured as was his passenger 14 year old Levi House. The elder House was taken to Harborview Hospital and the passenger was transported to a Kittitas Valley Hospital. Their conditions are unknown. Troopers have not released the name of the person from Seattle who was killed. The roadway was re-opened around 8:30 pm.
