An investigation continues into the drowning death of a Wenatchee High School student. KPQ News has learned that School District Superintendant, Brian Flones is scheduled to release a formal statement later this afternoon in connection with the investigation. The substance of the statement is not immediately known. The district launched the independant probe last Wednesday. Its being conducted by an attorney with an Enumclaw-based law firm. Flones said last week that Chris Burton with the Reynolds Burton law firm was hired because of his prior experience as an investigator for school districts. 14 year old Antonio Reyes drowned while in a morning swimming class on November 10th at the High School's pool. His body was found submerged at the bottom of the pool by a group of students in the next class. KPQ News has also learned that an attorney representing the Reyes Family is holding a news conference today to announce that a 15 million dollar claim has been filed against the School District. The news conference was scheduled for noon at the Confluence Technology Center at Olds Station.
