With four feet of snow on the ground at the Holden Mine Site...preparation for spring clean up will cease for now.
All equipment will be off site by the mid-December Wenatchee-Okanogan Forest officials.
The project is part of the site improvement process that started this past summer and fall at the mine which is located near Holden Village about 50 miles north of Chelan.
Elka Missal of the Forest Service says there's still plenty of paperwork to do, "The Forest Service, the department of ecology and the Enivornmental Protection Agency will analyze the 1,000 comments on the proposed plan and will have a Record of Decision signature by the holidays."
The Record of Decision states the work Intalco Aluminum is accountable for and the compnay selected for the clean up process.
Depending on the weather...the prep work will continue in the spring of 2012 and clean up operations are set to begin in 2013.
