Wilber-Ellis is closing its Wenatchee packaging plant after 40 years of doing business on South Wenatchee Avenue. The 23 employees who worked at the plant were all let go on Thursday according to company spokeswoman, Sandra Gharib. She says the Company is shifting its focus away from fruit packaging toward plant nutritiion and fertilizer production. Gharib says customers will still have access to Wilber-Ellis packaging services at other locations in Cashmere, Chelan and Quincy.
