Douglas County Sheriff's deputies followed footprints in the snow to a Bridgeport home Wednesday night, where they arrested a 17 year old man on burglary and weapons violations. Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal says around 7-40 that evening, a Bridgeport resident in the 900 block of Maple street told officials that someone had tried to break in through a back door. The deputy found the door had been damaged and followed the footprints to a nearby residence. Gjesdal says the design of the shoes worn by the teen matched the footprints made in the snow. The teen was arrested for attempted burglary, malicious mischief and possession of a dangerous weapon, in this case brass knuckles.
