A Malaga man was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Douglas County. It happened around 5:30 on Highway 97 about 3 miles north of Orondo. A report from the State Patrol says 38 year old Santiago Oliveras lost control of his vehicle while attempting to pass another Northbound vehicle driven by 51 year old Perry Yancey of Malaga. Both vehicles ended up in an orchard after skidding off the roadway. Oliveras was transported to Central Washington Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. State Troopers say Oliveras was driving too fast for the slippery road conditions.
