FRESNO, Calif. – The Wenatchee Wild extended its winning streak to four games Friday night with a 3-1 victory over the Fresno Monsters at Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif. The win allowed Wenatchee to take over sole possession of third place in the West Division.

Trace Redmond gave the Wild and early lead 3:56 into the contest.

The Monsters tied the game 1-1, early in the second period. Wenatchee broke the tie with 1:53 remaining before the second intermission when Chris Knudson scored on Shawn Pauly's one-timer feed from the blue line with heavy traffic in front of the net. Jerad Tafoya finished the scoring 2:22 into the third stanza.

Goaltender Robert Nichols denied 20 of Fresno’s 21 shots to better his record to 11-1-3.

Wenatchee (17-9-4) will look for its second straight 2-game sweep Saturday against Fresno (14-10-8). Faceoff is set for 7:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on 560 AM KPQ. Pre-game show begins at about 7-15p.m.
